Quartz
Quartz is an engineered product made in a factory. The slabs are created from 93% quartz and 7% pigments and binders to create a virtually worry-free surface. Quartz does not have to be sealed, is non-porous, scratch resistant and is fairly maintenance free. The melting temperature of the resins is around 300 degrees Fahrenheit so caution should be used with super hot items going on the counter.
Advantages of Quartz
More Durable
More scratch and crack resistant than granite and marble, quartz is one of the hardest naturally occurring materials in the world. Maintenance Free
Quartz surfaces never need to be sealed or otherwise maintained. Simply wipe clean with a cloth using mild soap and water for a clean, beautiful surface. |
Safer
Water and liquids from food products often contain bacteria. Unlike natural stones, quartz is nonporous and does not absorb water. Chemical Resistant
Quartz is highly resistant to most household chemicals. |
More Versatile
As a result of its durability, strength, and nonporous nature, quartz is the most versatile interior surfacing material. Quartz is ideal in any interior application. Stain Resistant
In addition to being the safer alternative, quartz is more stain resistant since it does not absorb water or other liquids. |
Quartz Manufacturers
Ultracompact Surfaces
Dekton is a sophisticated blend of the raw materials used to produce the very latest in glass and porcelain as well as the highest quality quartz work surfaces.
Dekton employs exclusive Sinterized Particle Technology, a high tech process which represents an accelerated version of the metamorphic change that natural stone undergoes when subjected to high temperatures and pressure over thousands of years.
Sinterized particle technology synthesizes truly innovative procedures from the most advanced technology industries. This evolution represents a technological and industrial leap capable of generating a new process, a revolutionary material and a leading product.
Electronic microscopy allows us to fully appreciate the material’s zero porosity, a consequence of the sinterization and ultra-compaction process exclusive to DEKTON. This zero porosity and lack of the micro-defects that cause tension or weak spots mark the difference as far as DEKTON is concerned.
