Preparing for Initial Consultation

• Contact TrueSource Home Specialties to request a cabinet consultation. The initial consultation is typically held at the TrueSource Home Specialties showroom.​

• ​Measure the existing space. Don't worry about the measurements being perfect as there will be an opportunity for us to confirm the dimensions later in the process. That being said, the more accurate information you provide will result in a more accurate preliminary quote. Download our cabinet measure guide.​ ​

​

• ​Take pictures and a video of the existing space. Email items to the designer associated with your project.

• Prepare for the meeting by gathering inspiration pictures. In addition to the cabinet manufacturers websites, many customers have success using Houzz & Pinterest.

• Review NKBA Planning Guidelines and fill out the NKBA Kitchen Planner or NKBA Bath Planner.

Initial Consultation

• Discuss project goals and layout possibilities.

• Review DIY or contractor options for construction of project.

Preliminary Cabinet Quote

• ​Price quote containing the cabinet manufacturer, door style, wood species and color. ​

​

• A list of features included in the quote including storage solutions, trim mouldings and other unique items.

• CAD drawings available to review with customer at TrueSource showroom.

• Revisions / updates as needed per customer input.

On-Site Consultation

• ​​Discuss jobsite specifics and design possibilities.​

​

• Inspect jobsite and confirm all measurements.

• Review preliminary CAD drawings produced from info gathered during initial consultation.

Updated Cabinet Quote

• ​Cabinet quote will be updated based on jobsite consultation.

​

• Drawings modified to reflect jobsite specifics.

• CAD drawings available to review with customer at TrueSource showroom.

Retainer to Move Forward

• A 10% deposit is made on the cabinets (applied to final purchase price).

• A commitment that enables a customer to fully access our skills and services for a project.

• All CAD drawings and itemized price lists are released to the customer.

• ​Design revisions completed as needed to refine layout options.

​

• Updated quotes with detailed product information.

​

• Meeting with contractor to review construction details (placement of plumbing, electric etc...)

Contract to Purchase Cabinets

• Final proposal and design are converted to a contract.

​

• 50% deposit is made to officially order materials.

​

• ​Estimated lead time information relayed to customer.

​

• Documents prepared to review with the contractor.
