The cabinet delivery service will do the heavy lifting on delivery day, but there are a few key steps you should take to help things go smoothly:
- Plan to be at the jobsite. Someone must be present to accept the delivery. TrueSource will provide a delivery day for your project in advance. On the day of delivery, TrueSoure will notify you when the delivery company arrives at our warehouse to load the cabients. This will give you a one hour heads up for delivery. If you can not be present for delivery, TrueSource can provide someone to manage the delivery for $250.00. Contact your TrueSource representative if you would like to TrueSource to be on the jobsite for delivery.
- Make room for your cabinets to be offloaded. This point might seem obvious, but it can be difficult to visualize how big the actual delivery will be. Cabinets for an average sized kitchen can typically be stored in a one car garage.
- Clear a safe path from the delivery truck to your home. Safety is a top concern for delivery services, so you’ll want to ensure there are no obstructions or slippery areas along the walkway.
- Plan for protection. If the room you choose for storage has a finished floor, lay down protection. We recommend Ram Board for flooring protection.
- Look for obvious signs of damage. You won’t have time to open and inspect each carton during delivery. But you should check each carton for visible tears, crumpled corners or water stains. If you notice any, ask your driver to open that package. Note damaged items on your packing slip before you sign off, then call your designer right away to arrange a reorder.
- If any of your cabinetry arrives damaged, call TrueSource right away. Document the damage with pictures. Do not decline delivery (accept all items). We will send someone from TrueSource to inspect the items and determine next steps.
